Arc Flash Hazard Warning Labels

The 2021 NFPA 70E defines what should be on each safety label.
 

The 2021 NFPA 70E 130.5(H) states warning labels
must include:

  • Nominal system voltage

  • Arc flash boundary (determined by data from Arc Flash Risk Assessment)

  • And at least one of the following:

    • Available incident energy and the corresponding working distance
      OR (but not both)
      The arc flash PPE category in Table 130.7(C)(15)(a) OR Table 130.7(C)(15)(b) for the equipment

    • Minimum arc rating of clothing

    • Site-specific level of PPE
