Electrical Engineering Studies

Arc Flash potential can be affected by both short circuit faults and mis-coordination of protective devices. Additionally, mis-coordination often results in nuisance tripping and system-wide outages.

Short Circuit Study

Our Short Circuit Study is helpful in identifying the correct short circuit ratings of all the equipment for your new facility. In existing facilities-this study will verify that your equipment is properly rated.

In order to maintain safe & normal operation in your dynamic facility, it is imperative to update your short-circuit calculations when you install new equipment, or within the NFPA 70E recommended five years.

A Short-Circuit Study is required for a complete Arc Flash Risk Assessment.

Protective Device Coordination Study

Are you experiencing nuisance tripping? Outages? It might be due to a lack of coordination.

Our Overcurrent Protection Device Study will identify mis-coordination within your electrical system. Our report will provide coordination recommendations for device ratings and settings and, if necessary, device replacement.

The goal of proper coordination is to localize the overcurrent condition (a hazardous fault current) to restrict outages to the affected circuit or equipment. Proper coordination ensures the safety of the rest of your system when a fault occurs, and is accomplished by the selection of overcurrent protection devices and their ratings and/or settings.

In order to maintain safety & normal operation in your dynamic facility, it is imperative to update your overcurrent protection coordination when you install new equipment, or within the NFPA 70E recommended 3-5 years.

An Overcurrent Protection Device Coordination Study is required for a complete Arc Flash Risk Assessment.
